This is a 3D paper sculpture made in 2016 which I did as challenge to myself and to display at conventions. After receiving the UNCANNY X-MEN / NEW TEEN TITANS 3D, in 1984 as part of a Batman art exchange,. Walt Simonson wrote this endorsement of my 3D work:
“Todd’s 3-D BOXES are gems of craftsmanship and patience. To examine them is to be constantly surprised and delighted at the degree of care and skill that has gone into their creation. The BOX he made for me of the X-Men.Teen Titans cover occupies a prominent place on my wall.”
This 3D used 25 laser scan prints of an internet image and took about 30 hours to make.
Upon posting photos and videos of this on Facebook and showing it around SDCC, the 3D was sold in July, 2016 to Michael Quint in RI.
