Holy Moly Batman! This was my First Mario Chavez purchase from ebay. I've been watching him churn out Bomber Girl Style art (i've forgotten the proper term for his style of art... I'm thinking Pinup Girls?) for years now. And man, Senor Chavez is a machine! Hundreds of these illustrations! His style ranges from kiddie-anime-like style, to a more refined comic book style, to something akin to the nouveau style of Alphonse Mucha (I prefer the latter). Well I recently bid on one of his Supergirl pieces and LOST. And will regret it for a long time. Then another gem came up, this Batgirl you see here, and had to get it. It's so much better in person! the fine and subtle line detail...primarily in the hair and fingers, and the subtle tone changes in the black parts of her costume... and nicely done on a coffee brown sheet. To me his pieces are probably the best deals on ebay! I got way more than I expected! I'm hoping to one day commission him to recreate the Supergirl piece that i lost on ebay. stay tuned!
