Description

A young up and coming talent Mark Pate. I bought a head sketch from him and then asked for this commission. I really like the shadowing. It sets a quiet but intense mood. I'm also taken by the creative close-up of the bullet casing and the message left on the ceiling for the Batman. Great piece.

You may notice on the prelim the bullet casing says "Haha" instead of the Riddler's question mark on the final piece. I asked Mark why he changed it. He told me "Joker is usually the "knee-jerk" villain to put in a Batman drawing, but I decided to go with the Riddler instead because I thought he was a better counter-weight to The World's Greatest Dectective."
