Description

The Italian team EsseGesse (Pietro Sartoris, Dario Guzzon, Giovanni Sinchetto) had great success in many European countries with series like Il grande Blek (Blek le roc in France), Capitan Miki and Commandante Mark (Captain Swing in France).
This colored cover is drawn by Sinchetto. It is from Blek Gigante No. 35, with a reprint of the Il Pipistrello story (Italian Serie 6), featuring British soldiers and a Persian satrap.
The heroes in the Blek series are American freedom fighters in the 1770s, while the British are regularly portrayed as villains and tyrants. The nearest US equivalent comic series would be Tomahawk.
