Description

Evan Hecox is a Colorado-based artist and designer whose work portrays the essence of urban environments. His work depicts city scenes or isolated elements that are almost cinematic in their stark contrast and abstraction. Hecox is fascinated with the complexity of the urban landscape and people from the mundane surroundings that one would normally overlook.

This is the first Hecox original I have managed to score, and it is a beauty.

This is one of three giant lino block prints, done as a triptych, that Evan did as part of a study for a huge mural he did back in 2007.

There are three 'panels' that make the whole lino composition. They are each pretty big 58cm x 118cm
(22.8" x 46.5"), making the total composition almost 6 ft x 4 ft.

They are hand pulled on very thick watercolor paper. This set was actually used when arranging the mural
composition, so they've got a little wear and tear, pin holes in the corners, a few small one or two cm tears along
the edges. It's kinda cool though, historical artifact by way of the mural project (also pictured in this posting).
