Description

Paul Smith followed Dave Cockrum and John Byrne on the revived X-Men written by Len Wein and Chris Claremont. He posts blog updates with new drawings every so often and keeps an artwork shop. The first couple times I acquired drawings from Paul in the 1990's, he directed me to make a donation to the old Friends of Lulu organization or the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and bring him the receipt.

I was happy to see this Phoenix inked drawing in the latest shop update. My second Smith drawing was a Marvel Girl pencil drawing in 1998 and this is my second Jean Grey some 18 years after my first. Have to thank the Happy Trails Paul Smith Facebook group for tipping me off.

You scored BIGTIME on this one! Smith is in my top five "grail" artists I want something from. Such a beautiful depiction of Jean too!
