Description

“Nina Simone” (1933-2003) by Ken Barnes

Nina Simone’s Voice combined the improvisational approach
of jazz and the modulations of the blues. She has an intense
sense of timing often using silence as a musical element.
Simone sings with a darkly evocative ability. Her onstage
personality can enthuse a crowd into wild appreciation
or diminish it into total silence.
