And, now for something completely different�

Ivan Brunetti is not in my usual target area. He�s a wonderful artist, probably best known for his autobiographical series, Schizo (appearing between 1994 and 2006), and for his non fiction book Cartooning: Philosophy and Practice, which won an Eisner in 2012. His style is simple and thoughtful at the same time. But, from my perspective, he�s known for the almost 20 covers that he�s contributed to the New Yorker over the years.

I recently had the opportunity to pick up one of his covers and thought I would share it with you. This is the cover to the September 12th issue of this year (I�ve included the published cover as an additional image).

Sorry for the scan. The piece is quite large (bigger than 2x up), and I had to piece together two scans as best I could.

Terrific piece on numerous fronts. First, the art itself - awesome. Second, the possibility that the competitive landscape in comic OA has now officially been knocked off its axis. Have you discovered strip art, yet?

Very cool. Nice cover image with a lot of fun visuals. This material is certainly a lot more publicly acceptable than some of his other work which are fun on an entirely different level. Excellent choice.
