He's drinking, and she is not happy about it! Bok was at his peak with color later in his career and this is a brilliant example!

As soon as you said, "... studying with Maxfield Parrish... ", the little lightbulb went on over my head and I knew why this wonderful illustration invoked the feelings it did. Wonderful, whimsical and colorful. This is a 'feel good' piece of art. I love it.
