Description

Ben Hatke is one of my favorite authors. Yes, he writes for an audience that is significantly younger than I if you measure in years, but I like all ages stories. His Zita the Spacegirl stories are delightful. They feature a young girl who stands back when her best friend falls into danger and then decides that she can't live that way and goes after him.

Little Robot tells the story of another young girl. The description on Goodreads says,

"When a little girl finds an adorable robot in the woods, she presses a button and accidentally activates him for the first time. Now, she finally has a friend. But the big, bad robots are coming to collect the little guy for nefarious purposes, and it's all up to a five-year-old armed only with a wrench and a fierce loyalty to her mechanical friend to save the day!"

It's a terrific tale and I highly recommend it. You will gasp in shock and smile with joy. Read it.

Ben sells his artwork on occasion. He usually puts up a lot with a price per page. He picks the page so you never know what you will get. In this case, I have a page featuring the hero of the tale fixing her friend.

BTW, you may have noticed that Ben's heroes are girls. There's a reason; he and his wife have five girls. I thought I had my hands full with three!
