DescriptionThis 11" x 3.75" original pencil drawing on standard paper served as a preliminary sketch for "The Pickwick Capers" story from the November 2006 issue of the Disney-licensed Slave Labor Graphics comic book series Haunted Mansion.Erasmus Cromwell Pickwick is a master burglar who has suffered from a severe case of acrophobia since childhood. To alleviate his anxiety, instead of climbing buildings, he slithers through Europe's subterranean tunnels to pull off heists. Driven by greed, Pickwick brings his thieving ways over to the less lawful New World, where he accepts an old pub-goer's challenge to break into the cursed Gracey Manor and claim its blood-soaked pirate treasure. But after navigating an underground mausoleum's passageway, Pickwick soon finds himself trapped in the spook house's portrait gallery, a room with no doors and no windows, where supernatural forces wreak havoc on his complex... to deadly liberating results.
