Description
Axa was created and illustrated by Enrique (Enric) Badía Romero and scripted by Donne Avenell. The series began in the British newspaper The Sun on July 3, 1978, and ended abruptly on November 6, 1985, in comic strip 2238 within the saga entitled The Betrayed. The storyline remained unfinished until the artist self edited the conclusion in 2012. Enric died in 2014.

The series was designed as a daily three-panel adventure strip, with two-panel strips being the hardest to find, especially if Axa appears in all her glory.

This two-panel daily strip belongs to the saga entitled “The Brave” which was published between comic strips 480-599. The daily strip is number 567 and is so good that it was used as the cover of the saga in a Spanish reissue in 1994 entitled “La Brava.”

Publication date: May 23, 1980

Love how the establishing shot draws you in with the black shadows directing you to the walking figures.  And of course the close up of Axa and the slice through the water is genius, you don't even realize you are being tricked by this effect because the brontosaurai are so engaging.

An exceptional page, so well designed.  I can see why it was featured on the cover.

Wonderful! The dinosaurs attrack a lot the viewer's attention, but the composition and viewing angle of the first panel are superb! The level of detail is what you come to expect from Romero, but it is still breathtaking.
