DescriptionAs most people who know me are aware, I'm a huge Punisher fan... but typically my collecting of Punisher stops with the Punisher Limited Series. After that, I felt the character got diluted and there were so many different versions of the character, I couldn't relate to him. But, there's one artist whose style I grew to love - Tim Bradstreet.Bradstreet's version of the Punisher is what inspired the "new look" of the Punisher that was adapted in the 2004 Tom Jane movie and has formed the basis for the modern day version. As I now live in Los Angeles, I've had the occasion to bump into Tim a bit more at local shows and at one earlier this summer we got to talking about doing a Gerhard project. He felt that Gerhard and he were cut from the same mold as far as inking so looked forward to the results. Tim finished this piece up for me at the Indiana Comic-Con over the summer where I handed it to Gerhard. Since Tim drew such a stark black version of the Punisher, there was no doubt it would contrast with Gerhard's various gradations of grey. I didn't give Gerhard much direction on this one... he chose the New York setting. When I saw the original layout, it reminded me of the New York I remember visiting in the 1970's. Even that car - can you imagine the Punisher cruising the streets in that instead of his mini-van? Hell ya! I pointed out to Gerhard that New York state probably wouldn't have approved the Punisher's custom license plate, but I had to remember... it's comics! So, enjoy this Bad A$$ collaboration.. The license plate says it all... BADASS!!! Two of my favorite artists combined to create a stunning masterpiece. I'm truly jealous of this piece. The end result turned out to be incredible. Big congrats Charles!

That's an engine block that can take a few hits and keep on moving!
