Description

Penciled and inked by Kirby in 1959, at the height of the space-race. Sputnik had launched two years before, and it would be almost two more years until Yuri Gagarin and Alan Shepard (the first Mercury astronaut) flew within a month of each other.

My apologies for the stitching artifacts. The piece is almost 3' wide, and it was hard to get all of it scanned even on an 11x17 scanner.
