DescriptionThis is one of several commissions I set up in advance for NYCC.The Cuckoo Clock of Doom is from the book of the same name, number 28 in the original series. It's a magical clock that begins slowly transporting protagonist Michael Webster's mind backwards in time after he twists the cuckoo's head around in an attempt to frame his god awful sister Tara of a prank. When Michael is finally able to restore the bird to normal he's immediately sent to his present body... only his sister has disappeared and he's the only one who remembers her. It turns out the clock had a flaw, in that a year is missing from its dial and it just so happens to be the year Tara was born. E.J. is a bird aficionado so I thought she had fun with this, and while the clock in the book is actually bigger, I told her it was cool to take some artistic liberties. I love the coloring and shading on this one. Social/Sharing |
