Description

This is by far one of the best commissions I got from NYCC this year, since I knew I wasn't going to be there all four days and decided to focus on quality instead of quantity as I usually do. I planned to only get something from Stjepan Sejic, but I felt I'd been rude to Linda by accident the first day I met them so I decided to get something from both of them (and treated them to some pumpkin muffins as an apology). I had trouble deciding who to get from Linda at first, thinking I'd get a heavyset commission from her like I was from Stjepan, but then I had a brainstorm; her style fit perfectly for one of the characters from one of my favorite Graveyard School books.

Mab is the great aunt of Kyle Chilton, or as his mom put it, she's his grandfather's aunt's cousin. But she looks incredibly young for her supposed age, almost like Aurora from "Sleeping Beauty." Kyle was all set to give Mab and her cat Natasha for supposedly ruining his Christmas, but she's very looking forward to it. Considering she's named after the Shakespearean fairy queen, it's no surprise she's a trickster.

I feel like I would've cried had I seen Linda working on this in person. The coloring, the lines, the way she captured Mab's smirk and remembered to include the cat's eye ring on her finger, it's beyond perfect.
