Yes -- that's all he painted! If you look at the cover ,https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwje9M3w0OLXAhXKYd8KHRyjBmMQjRwIBw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FThe_Last_Hurrah_of_the_Golden_Horde&psig=AOvVaw3-fxkx-r99iCgDJ4Fq_hYS&ust=1512005316426570>, that's apparently what the art director wanted. It looks better (IMO) with the mat.
