DescriptionRound 2 of these match up commissions from Misha, this time focusing on the Wonder Woman equivalents, Glory from Image Comics and Sun Woman from "Top 10." Glory was not created by Alan Moore, instead she was Rob Liefeld's version of Wonder Woman (although Jo Duffy apparently handled the writing on her series). Alan Moore briefly tried to use the same process he used on "Supreme" for her, collaborating with his wife Melinda Gebbie and revamping Glory's history to make allusions to Wonder Woman's Golden Age tales. The run only lasted for a couple of issues, even counting the re-releases by Avatar Comics. Glory was later picked up again by Image, where Joe Keatinge and Sophie Campbell did a PHENOMENAL relaunch that was exceptionally better executed than the Erik Larsen "Supreme" comics.Sun Woman, a.k.a. Delia Spyros, is seemingly a champion of the Greek God Helios since she invokes his name and imagery. She lives in a Grecian styled headquarters with a number of young female attendants and servants. Considering Delia, like the rest of the Sentinels, are child molesters, there's no telling what she's done to any of those young women. While the last piece was comedic, I had Misha do an homage to art from "Revolutionary Girl Utena," and I was specific in asking her to use Sophie's take on Glory for reference. I thought it would make the piece more dynamic since this version of Glory's more muscular. Social/Sharing |
