Description

I have had a great love for the character of Death since she first popped up in Sandman #8. I am always fascinated to see different artists' takes on her and her brother Dream. This is a fantastic watercolor and gouache commission painting from 2010 by Felipe Echevarria, who does both comics and fine art. This piece is a nod to Death's 1st appearance from Sandman #8 where she shows up to help cheer up her brother while he is feeding the pigeons by the fountain. I love the photograph feel of it as both look into the camera. A snapshot in time of the siblings. When I came across this on eBay I went hard to get it and was surprised at the deal I got. This will be getting framed and put on the wall for sure.

The piece measures 12x15 so it was a little too big for my scanner and I had to scan it in 2 scans and merge them to show it off, so please ignore the slight line down the middle left. I am including a digital pic of the front and back as well as Felipe only signed it on the back, which adds to the photograph quality. Just a fantastic piece in person and I am thrilled with it!
