Description

This cover just captivated & caught my eye as a kid. Setting up a commission on it initially was a challenge ( this goes back to my early days on Infinite Timelines and I was CLUELESS ) but this version was penciled by "Rico" aka Ian Richardson in 2014 and much later Chris Ivy inked it into a gem. Russ of course, finished it off

Enjoy

This is brilliant! Great characters, great layout, wonderful executed. In my mind's eye I can see this on the spinner rack at the local drug store!

Issue 37 ( the second part of the story ) of Creatures On The loose is equally eye-catching and will be the subject of next week's Chapter 3.

Most people know Rico from his work as a colorist, but the man can draw as well! Also, I think Val Armorr would have chopped those chains in half. ;)

You can't go wrong with a Gil Kane layout.

Rico is excellent have you used him since and Chris Ivy is knocking it out of the park these days with his private commission work.

Ummm ... just checking, Aidan, but based on the 'Rico' signature, I'd say those were Ian Richardson's pencils, not Rico Renzi's.

... that said, I should add it's a marvelous piece, regardless of the artist's identity.

John, I am totally embarrassed but you are 100% right. The pencils are indeed Ian's. This cover had a checkered past and the 1st version by another artist featured a Light Lass figure that did not turn out well .THANK YOU for the eagle-eyed save. Time played tricks on this "editors" mind

Always happy to help - I've got enough of Ian's signatures on pieces around my house that it was an easy spot for me.
