Description
A memorable TWICE-UP cover image from a forgettable title. Syd Shores' inks greatly enhance Dick Ayers' composition/pencils. I like this cover a lot . . . not exactly grail-like, but it has tremendous eye-appeal.

This is a great cover..Dick Ayers provided serviceable layouts, and Syd Shores then steals the show with class & style.Syd Shores was an amazing talent..his inks on Kirby's "Captain America" in the late 60's stands out as some of the finest artwork of the entire era. Brilliant draftsmanship from a very underrated artist.

Beautiful Syd Shores work. I'm a huge fan of his 60's inking, maybe more than the art he did in the 40's and 50's. The Hulk annual he inked over Marie Severin's pencils ... The Beast issue with Tom Sutton ... the Nazi psychiatrist story arc in the Kirby Captain America series! He always added intensity and realism to any inking assignment. I wish he had had a chance to ink Kirby's Thor. I prefer the Colletta version but I'd like to have seen that combination.

Thanks, Ben, I always liked the Hydra organization from the early S.H.I.El.L.D. stories in Strange Tales.

This is a beautiful, classic cover.  Baron Strucker reminds me of the Nazi on the 1st issue of Charlton's Ghostly Tales.
