Description

A Masterful take on and tribute to Jack �The King� Kirby�s vision of Gargantuan Celestial Beings Eternally Bound while Metron of the New Gods ponders their fate from his Moebius Chair.

The Promethean Giants are beings who tried and failed to breach the Source Wall to discover the mysteries of the cosmos. For their hubris, they were left floating through space, chained to enormous rocks, living on such a vast scale that it takes a billion years to feel a single heartbeat. Many of the giants are shattered, but still alive, able to reach out with their thoughts to other beings, mentally crying out in humiliation. Metron would contemplate the giants on occasion. Some giants had been there so long, primitive vegetation grew on their suspended forms.

I came across this years ago when Enrico Salvini posted in on his Website. I was not familiar with Giorgio�s work but was Immediately Taken with it!!! It was, at the time, the most expensive piece of art I had contemplated buying. I chuckle at that now, having spent nearly 10X that on a more recent acquisition.

I not only received it but the original pencil preliminary as well!!! Whoa!!! Yes, Comolo Drew it First Then Did the painting!!! Insane in The Best Possible Sense of the Word!!!!

They are framed and hanging in my bedroom and will be for posterity!!!
