DescriptionSOLD AT AUCTION FOR $1,138!11.75x15-1/8" thin artboard mounted to Bainbridge Board features original art by Sheldon "Shelly" Moldoff, one of Bob Kane's main "ghost artists." He is also known for co-creating the heroine Hawkgirl and the villainess Poison Ivy. Pen and ink w/watercolor original art recreating the first page of "Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen" #72 (Oct. 1963), w/"The World Of Doomed Olsens!" title w/art slightly different from how it appeared on front cover. Art shows Jimmy Olsen surrounded by four other versions of himself from previous stories - Giant Turtle Man, Human Porcupine, Wolf-Man and Elastic Lad - each w/their feet rooted to the ground. A glow surrounds the main Olsen, as he uses his signal watch to summon Superman, who flies in and refuses to help, stating "This Is Your Punishment, For All Eternity... To Be Tormented By Your Former Identities!" 1990s. Moldoff has signed at lower left. Some faint age spotting along bottom margin but art is o/w NM. Social/Sharing |
