Wade Hillyard was (apparently) an art student in Santa Ana, CA, whose ID was B-501402-S, who drew this rather stunning portrait in 1950. Santa Ana is close enough to the coast (looks like the bow of a boat he's leaning on) that you assume this was drawn from life.

Of course, I am assuming that Wade Hillyard is the name of the student artist. Wade Hillyard might also be the name of the subject.
