Jack Kirby! The King! The 4th World! Jimmy Olsen! The Newsboy Legion! The Whiz Wagon...

Kirby says "Don't ask! Just buy it!"

And I did!...

However improbable this may appear, the heavily-psychedelic team-up of Golden Age wonders the Newsboy Legion (the ultimate Kirby Boys Gang) with straighter than straight Jimmy Olsen worked aplenty! But only the King could have pulled that stunt!

I mean, having them travel the world(s) in a revamped Fantasticar and confront both modern (New Genesis/Apokolips) threats alongside more classic, if slightly rebooted, villains (Vampires, Loch Ness monster, you name it!) made for a strange pitch, but it provided Jack Kirby with all the magnitude to exercise his considerable fantasy and storytelling skills at the fullest!

While arguably being the weakest angle in the 4th World chain, Jack Kirby's Jimmy Olsen was also the most fun to read!

And, as usual, on this page, all artistic dynamics explode!

A very nice touch for you Vince Colletta's fans out there: the deftly delineated landscape on panel 4 is a real treat, while Jimmy's profile on panel 2 is certainly graced with Murphy Anderson's inks!
