DescriptionGerhard's landscape/background work has always stood out to me as something very special. After meeting him at a convention and finding out how genuinely nice he is, I absolutely HAD to commission a piece for my TMNT collection. He did collaborate with Dave Sim in the Cerebus crossover issue of TMNT #8, after all. This scene depicts the Turtles' sewer lair sometime in between issue 2 and issue 3 of the original series. While the brothers were out meeting April for the first time, Splinter was getting attacked by Baxter Stockman's Mousers. Despite a valiant fight, Splinter was abducted, leaving behind this scene for his sons to find. Gerhard did a superb job incorporating elements of each of the Turtles in the scene and I'm thrilled with how this turned out. I hope you enjoy it too. Social/Sharing |
