Ernie Chan is one of the low key greats because of how he lays out action on covers and pin ups. Chessboard covers likje these are great to look at in the original black and white.
This is such a classic cover from the late 70's time period. One of the rmany reasons I've always LOVED this period at Marvel is because Ernie Chan illustrated a a nice bunch of covers across various titles and I especially loved the work he did on The Hulk. What I like best about this cover though, is not only the fact that a cool villain like Doctor Doom is looming overhead, but especially the fact that Doom is the last villain one would expect to show up as a foil for MOKF!
