DescriptionVictory!In May of 2013, I helped fund a Kickstarter for Starstruck: Old Proldiers Never Die. The perk was a commission by Michael Kaluta. I chose the old pulp magazine hero, The Shadow because he had done a beautiful job on it in the 70s for DC. I’ve loved his work since then. It took Michael a little while because he had to finish the book (a few hundred pages) and because he is notably slow. The original piece was two people. I chose the Shadow and his associate Margo Lane. Here’s what Mike sent when I asked about it once the book was as finished.  He had to discard this because I had extended my support to include “some background.” However, I have this piece because he flipped the page over for his next layout.

That is insanely great...it's cover quality! I'm still waiting on my piece. I just saw another drawing posted that is nowhere near as detailed and finished as this one...you certainly got an amazing drawing!

Hey, you're only supposed to have funny art. I supported that Kickstarter too but while I'm wishing I'd gone for this perk I probably couldn't afford it at the time. Such is life.
