There's a funny story that goes with this piece.

My daughter gave Dan Parent her sketchbook and asked for Katy Keene. That sketchbook has my name and phone number on it.

At about the same time, my wife discussed a potential addition to her sketchbook by Dan, but she did not give him her book.

We came back at the appointed time and Dan reached under the table and showed my daughter a lovely Katy drawing. My daughter pointed out that that while it was lovely and the sketchbook had a nice print cover, it wasn't in her book!

Ooops!

He'd drawn Katy in the wrong sketchbook and didn't remember to whom it belonged or what it should be. He thought that Rebecca's sketchbook belonged to Kathy and the one with the "girly" cover was Rebecca's.

This drawing was done in her correct sketchbook.

The other book? It turned out to belong to a friend of Dan's who wanted to start a new sketchbook centered on curling! He got a surprise on the first page. :)
