Description Dated December 13, 1997, this is an excellent example of Leonard Starr’s revival of the
Little Orphan Annie comic strip. Annie is staying with scientist, Ezra Eon, who is dealing with a gold digger who has her hooks into his brother, Elmer. Ezra has an idea to give her 100 signed blank checks as a wedding present assuming she’ll take the money and run.
In this daily, Ezra gets off the phone with Prissy (whoever that is) and Annie tries to make sense of his giving the signed blank checks to his brother and fiancée as their wedding present given the latter is likely a gold digger.
Leonard Starr is best known for his soap opera comic strip,

rkins On Stage which began in 1957 and explored the life on and off the stages of Broadway and Hollywood. After a 20+ year run, Starr retired the strip and took over the revival of Harold Gray’s
Little Orphan Annie.
Condition: Original measures 5-1/2” x 13-1/2” and is in excellent condition except for a few pinholes in the top margin, very minor. The art in the second panel is a pasted on Photostat, not original art.
The strip is signed in the second panel, but the signature is on an attached label, not directly on the artwork. It appears to be original however.
