Hercules II 3 page 3 by Bob Layton

I have expressed many times my deep appreciation of Bob Layton’s Hercules ‘work. I loved it as young boy and still do as an adult. This is the serie I associate him the most with, even more so than Iron Man.

So when this page popped up recently I had to buy it as they have come rarer nowadays (for a cheap asking price which is always nice).

No Hercules here but the introduction of a Thanos fanatic (a nice concept I found) and his minions meeting their horrible end. A scene which made a big impression on my younger self as I found it quite violent and gruesome. Back in those days, those graphic depiction of death were not as common in big 2 books.

I find the last two panels excellent highlighting this fanatic’s rationale. His face and stare in the last are pitch perfect.

A cool page all around offering great art and storytelling.

Plus, Thanos is mentioned on it so it must be worth THOUSANDS ! At the very least!
