Unpublished piece. I purchased it in 2003 from Steve Miller. Apparently the artist switched to digital some time ago:

Aldo Spadoni is President of Aerospace Imagineering, a consulting company specializing in the conceptual design and visualization of advanced technology concepts. Aerospace Imagineering is currently engaged in exciting projects in support of aerospace, new product development, and entertainment industry applications.

Aldo is an MIT graduate with extensive experience as an aerospace engineer, designer, and futurist. Aldo has contributing to the conceptual, prototype, and production design of numerous advanced aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft For NASA and The U.S. Armed Services. At Northrop Grumman, he created and currently manages the Engineering Visualization Resource, a dedicated creative team tasked with envisioning the future of aerospace technology, using computer based engineering and Hollywood style visualization tools.

I happened to emeet Mr. Spadoni in October of 2008, and he added This piece was painted in 1974 when I was in high school. I sold it at the Art Show auction of the World Science Fiction Convention in Wash DC that same year. I don’t have a record of who purchased it and who else may have owned it since. It’s painted using Designer’s Gouache (opaque water colors), not Acrylics. It has never been published. Yes, I switched to digital rendering techniques in the early 1990’s and have not created a painting “by hand” since that time. I sure do miss those originals!
