Description

SOLD AT AUCTION FOR $2,368!

15x20" artboard features detailed pen and ink art by noted Captain Marvel artist C.C. Beck featuring Captain Marvel in Shazam's cave, running past "The Seven Deadly Enemies Of Man - Pride, Envy, Greed, Hatred, Selfishness, Laziness, Injustice," statues. Shazam the Wizard is seen in bkg. of cave with cloud and lightning bolt. This scene depicts Captain Marvel's origin where his alter ego Billy Batson meets Shazam and is granted his powers. Lower right has hand-lettered text "C.C. Beck - 1985 - With Best Wishes To Sheldon Oppenberg." Artboard has some minor corner tip wear and scattered dust soiling to margins, but art remains clean and Exc. Very well done depiction of classic Captain Marvel scene, dedicated to noted collector and fan, cartoonist Sheldon Oppenberg.
