DescriptionA recent purchase from the massive Crossgen OA sale from a few months back.Outside of the Scion cover, this splash was my favorite Cheung piece and I’m glad I was able to get it. The Exeter was by far my favorite character from the serie and this revealing splash is exceptional. A great kind of Frazetta-esque pose with his two signature axes drenched in fresh blood. I find that the fact that the blood is defined by the negative effect of the shadows is very effective). Simply look at those lush black inks! In terms of storytelling, I love how Ethan’s face is ominously announcing the big splash reveal by being half covered in shadows (with a tiny spot of blank where the eye should be). Great stuff. An effective image for sure and you’re right about those axes! Also like the folds/detailing in the cape. Congrats!

Such great shading on this piece. The Exeter character arc was one of my favorites from the series.
