Description

Raymond Pettibon:
1957-Present.
Original Bass Player for band Panic, brother Greg Ginn Guitarist. Discovered Band already existed named Panic. Pettibon suggested changing band to BLACK FLAG. PETTIBON Designed original "Four Bar" Logo. Designed Flyers and Album Covers for Black Flag. Also The MinuteMen and other L.A. Punk Bands on the SST Label.
In 1990 he created the cover art for Sonic Youth's GOO LP. In 2002 Pettibon gained more widespread popular exposure when the Foo Fighters commissioned him to design the artwork for their One by One album. His work is part of the permanent collections of public galleries throughout the world, including a large collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles have all exhibited Pettibon's artwork.
