Description

I love the story line that this daily comes from. The setting is the heart of the Depression and Annie, as was often the case, is left to fend for herself. She winds up dealing with this street tough, with a little help from a friend in high places. Gray's style during this period was pretty sparse and empty, which evokes, I think, the feeling of the time. January 6, 1928.

January 18, 2024 Update: I've just updated the scan with a new one to replace the 18 year old scan. Much better!
