I've wanted a Dark Horse/"Buffy" cover since the comic series first
came out. I'm delighted to have found this one, the cover to #24.
 
Jeff Matsuda is another comic book artist who left the field
to work in animation and, for a time, video games. By most
accounts, he did well. He even picked up an Emmy along the
way. I still wish he'd stuck with comics.
 
�Buffy the Vampire Slayer� may have been a Dark Horse publication, 
but Matsuda started his career working with Rob Liefeld and Image. 
I wasn't surprised to discover this 11� x 17� cover is drawn on 
Image board. 
 
During Matsuda�s most interesting comic book years, Jon Sibal 
often worked as his inker. They were a solid team.

Matsuda was definitely bringing an energetic anime style to the art! This battle action cover shows off the skills of storytelling and picking the apex moment to draw! Sibal was the perfect compliment to the sharp linework.

Love Matsuda's take on Buffy, and this is a great action shot with her. Congrats!
