Description

Emi Lenox writes and draws about her own life online. I read the two Emitown: A Sketch Diary books published by Image Comics. She has a graphic novel Plutona, but I haven't read it. When I saw her at Emerald City Comic Con this year, I browsed her portfolios and debated between three pieces. I kept coming back to this image showing Emi and her Siamese cat. The pose is taken from Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro. After exploring the forest near her home, little Mei falls and lands on the belly of the big Totoro. She's amused by the giant creature.
