Description

One of Russ Braun's earliest jobs in comic books was penciling the "Venom" story arc in Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #16-20. That story and the Venom drug later served as major elements to the backstory of the villain Bane. Since Russ had that connection, I thought it would be a cool idea to have him sketch Bane in my bad guys book. I was surprised when Russ told me he'd never drawn Bane, because I really thought the idea would have occurred to someone else before now. Also, Russ is really good at drawing these big & menacing yet somewhat exaggerated & comedic figures, which fit with the character. So there you have it: the very first Bane sketch by Russ Braun!
