Cassandra Cain/Batgirl III Original Costume Design

Rendered in pen, ink and marker on vellum, Alex Maleev designed the first Batgirl costume since Barbara Gordon's time in the cape and cowl.

This costume was first worn by Helena Bertinelli during the No Man's Land storyline -- an identity we more commonly associate with Huntress. But her methods were too violent for Batman's taste.

He revoked her use of the look he made iconic, and passed the mantle on to Cassandra Cain. This is, I suppose, the first appearance of the costume *anywhere.*

I remember it being a pain to get in the mylar so I took advantage of vellum's translucence to back-light it rather than taking it back out. It was featured in some book or another, so I know it's technically "published," although not widely seen (if anyone knows in what book it was, help a brother out and let me know).
