Description

Peter David's Incredible Hulk run deserves repeated reading. I became so engrossed in the deep mythology he created for the half-Asgardian team the Pantheon. Their exploits stretched from the Nevada desert to outer space, backdrops that allowed the great Gary Frank to create mind-blowing art.

Long before Marvel began marketing "diversity," David and Frank were telling beautiful stories about gay identity, family and self-acceptance, and a heartbreaking tale about the AIDs epidemic. I will always be grateful for the character of Hector. I asked Frank to revisit him in this 2016 convention sketch. Thank you Joe Hedges for picking it up for me at NYCC!
