Description

This piece strikes me as a gorgeous example of a 'perfect' superhero comic book page. In bold and dramatic fashion, expertly drawn and with a dynamic and effective layout (the "open space" in panel two kills it here), Mssrs. Immonen and von Grawbadger depict 1) someone in trouble, 2) a daring, heroic rescue, 3) the culmination/realization of the danger as the airship explodes on the surface of the ocean, and 4) a killer 'all-in-a-day's-work' shot of our hero.

(Peppered throughout are traces of Wade's always excellent inking and cross-hatching; the shield in panel 4 is especially unbelievable...)
