DescriptionThis is a cool sample of a young Lee Bermejo. This was one of his sample pages he submitted that ultimately led to him getting hired by Wildstorm to draw Gen 13. The seller was Lee's old High School teacher who was very supportive of student Lee Bermejo. Here is the listing description."Lee Bermejo, artist of Batman, Joker, Superman, Daredevil, John Constantine, Gen 13, and many other great characters was my high school student back in the early to mid 90's. I was lucky to be there for his first trip to SDCC and watch him submit his work to publishers hoping to make it big. Wildstorm gave him his first opportunity and the rest is history. I was fortunate to be able to purchase (or was given) a few of his earliest pieces of art. Lee is an amazing talent and I am saddened to have to let some of these original pieces go, but hopefully to homes of his fans. This piece is an 11" x 17" page the Gen 13 team. Caitlin Fairchild, Bobby "Burnout" Lane, Roxy "Freefall" Spaulding, Sarah Rainmaker, and Percival "Grunge" Chang. This is a tight penciled page that was not done for a comic but used as a submission piece. Lee would begin his rise to stardom working on Gen 13. This amazing piece of art was completed in the mid-1990's and is one of Lee's earliest detailed originals. This is one of those pieces I hate to put up for auction. The Detail on this page is uncanny." So this is a cool little piece that shows the early promise of Lee, before he became the superstar he was clearly meant to be. Social/Sharing |

Very cool to see his pre-pro work. It's clear when looking at this that he was destined to grow his abilities and become far better.

This was given as a gift right after I got hired but drawn when I was 16. Really sad and disappointed to see it was sold.
