Description

This 11x17 version of my Gorgon queen hanging out with that two-bit magician John Constantine was done as one of Artyom's Patreon rewards. I suggested three possible subjects but asked for the final selection to be a suprise. Well, the suprise was having two of my possible subjects put together into a single piece! A great thing about following an artist from when they're very new is getting to watch their work change in real time. Compare this to some of the earlier pieces I've posted here. Obviously, this earlier work caught my eyes too but I'm really liking where Artyom's been heading lately and I can't wait to buy art from his next book once it's announced. In the meantime, I wonder what I should get for my next commission...

Yep, give it another year or so and I'll be looking at this one as early work too. Gonna be interesting to look at the commissions over time.

I love how this illustrates both of John's compulsions: the smoking, and the need to play with dangerous magic. This really is a fantastic piece! Big congrats!
