Description

"Now serving number 17. Number 17?" Renee Montoya takes a break from busting heads to deliver a little snark. I am awestruck by this splash page. Mike Perkins manages to convey so much attitude and mood without the benefit of facial expressions. It's the detail in the figure work and the ink wash that makes this killer. Gabe Eltaeb's colors in the published issue are beautiful, but I would be just as happy to see the Question story line in black and white. Perkins' inks are really delivering a noir atmosphere.

Thanks to Ruben DaCollector for this gorgeous piece. I love every opportunity to buy from Comic Book Art Gallery. Our community needs more of this.

Wow, I feel like I need to take a bow. Thanks for the kind words, Charles, the pleasure is always mine. This is indeed a killer piece by Perkins, so full of atmosphere! His inks and wash tones are also nicely complimented by his usage of white paint for highlights. As Renee Montoya's #1 fan, I'm thrilled to see this piece go into your collection!

Absolutely definitive Rene Montoya Question page, Charles - what a stunner! Just as you say, atmosphere galore, with white paint, wash tones, and good ol' black ink conspiring in an indelible cocktail of sass, power, and attitude. Rene has never looked so good - no question. Congrats on this stunning pick up!
