Description

Night Fighter #1 (Mainline- 1954/54). Done on heavy Art Board, Jack re-used an unused Fighting American cover (check out Speedboy in the pencil background) and transformed the Fighting American into The Night Fighter. mainline (Simon & Kirby's company) never got around to publishing this piece. It was published in Jack Kirby Treasury Volume #2.

Quite the interesting historical piece. Jack's original Spiderman proposal was reported to have closely resembled this design. Tribute was recently paid by the makers of Spider-man, Far from Home, when they gave Peter the alter-ego "Night Monkey", using essentially this design. In sum, brilliant pick up!

Really nice. And if you haven't had a chance to see it in person yet (don't know if you previewed or bid live at PIH), it's quite substantial and more impressive in person.
