Corrado Rio was born in Laveno-Mombello on the 11th of February 1958. At sixteen years old he starts his activity of drawer with the “StudiOriga” for whom he realizes “Rick Zero”, a sci-fi character created by Graziano Origa and published on the weekly “Adamo” by the “Editoriale Corno”. After collaborating with “Editrice If” and with “Il Monello”, in the middle of the 1980s he debuts on the pages of the headlines of the Bonelli with “Mister No” first and then with “Martin Mystère”. Then he starts illustrating “Dylan Dog” pieces becoming one of the most appreciated authors, valued so much that he has to realize covers for the “Granderistampa”. Until 2005 he has been the official cover artist for “Brendon” as well, another character of the “Sergio Bonelli Editore” (then replaced by Massimo Rotundo). He works for “Julia”, “Magico Vento” and “Dampyr” too. Alongside the profitable collaboration with the Bonelli, he has worked for other publishing houses like the “Comic Art” and the “Arnoldo Mondadori Editore”. In June of the same year is out another “Texone” (“L’Orda del Tramonto”), screenplay by Pasquale Ruju, this is the first time he meets for the first time the most famous Bonelli’s character, “Tex”. In March 2016 Roi shows for the first time at the “Cartoonmix” “Ut”, a mini-series ideated by Roi himself. From 2005 to 2010 he has been Assessore al Turismo ed al tempo libero in his hometown where he lives and works as well right now.
