Description
Like almost every original art collector Jack Kirby is the beginning of the conversation... he is not the King for no reason. If you have looked around my gallery you can probably tell that the X-Men are near and dear to my heart. This all being said Kirby pages from the X-men are tough to come by... there were only a handful of issues he draw and even fewer with full pencils . On top of that there are full issues from that limited run that have never surfaced. So when I had the opportunity to grab this one .. with the full team and using powers I had to grab it... a literal piece of X-Men history is mine.

I was wondering who would have the good taste to look past the lack of costumery and appreciate what a classic piece of Kirby storytelling this is. The way he's thought through the situation, the realistic vehicle in panel one, the fact that Iceman doesn't need a parka--! Panel four is just thrilling, and the whole page evokes the spirit of exploration that marks so many of Kirby's books, from Challengers and FF up through Kamandi and 2001. Nice pick up!!!

Great page by the King! Nothing beats classic Silver Age comic art!

Really love Chic Stones inks over Kirby, whenever the X-Men travelled to the Savage Land you knew that it was going to be a good story and this is the first time!
