At some point, I stopped reading Garfield. But, early on, it was great and even (for that time) a little edgy. A nice Sunday from those days.

Nice early Garfield. I hope to snag one in a future auction. This would be from the first year of the strip and was when Garfield still walked on 4 legs instead of two. I too loved Garfield growing up for the first few years. There was so much merchandising at the time, he was literally everywhere.

Like you, I am a fan of Davis' early work on Garfield when he was a cat, not a human masquerading as a cat. These early strips were quite fun to read, and having a Sunday is quite nice. An excellent addition to your burgeoning collection.
