Frank R. Paul, "On the Attack"

"On the Attack," Amazing Stories(?). Purchased at Heritage. If anyone has seen where this was published, I'd love to hear from you. Heritage description: "Frank R. Paul, On the Attack Original Art Illustration (1943). Paul, an inventor of the very basics of science-fiction art, seems to have developed this war-siege scene in at least two known versions -- likely for an issue of Amazing Stories, one of the seminal pulp-fiction magazines. This piece is the narrower of those known versions; the other stretches outward into a more nearly horizontal configuration. The nightmarish imagery centers upon a mono-wheeled attack vehicle, ploughing into a horde of reptilian creatures. Paul was fond of painting in ink on earth-toned illustration board, then highlighting a composition with white paint. This is one of his better such pieces.
